Best Coffee In Cork?

… it won’t be for the lack of trying!

We have researched the fundamentals of good coffee making, judged the best practices and combined them to ensure that our coffee answers this question.

Our Methods:

The Beans Our house blend is slow hand roasted in the worlds first carbon neutral Roastery in Dublin – 100% Arabica – sourced from the Java Republic Roasting Company. The house blend we use is the first Irish coffee ever to win the Great Taste award in London – the Oscars of the food industry! This dark roast blend gives a rich smooth coffee with a concentrated sweet flavour. Our guest coffee changes weekly & is a single estate light roast supplied from a local roaster The Golden Bean, Ballymaloe. Our Flat White is always made with our guest coffee.

The Espresso Machine We use a two group Italian Electra Barlume machine. Our machine has been expertly set to provide accurate pressure and water volume to produce the perfect espresso. We are 100% focused on keeping our machines, grinders and surrounding work areas impeccably clean. Our machines are facing the customer to help us ensure cleanliness at all times.

The Grinder We use a Mazzer Super Jolly, doseerless electronic espresso grinder. 900 watt motor, 71mm conical burrs running at 500 rpm. It grinds our espresso shots at 19 grams in 5 seconds. As ground coffee loses its flavour rapidly, we ensure its consistent freshness by grinding our beans to order, which produce a powdery fine grind without any damage to the coffee.

Cup Sizes We use 12 and 8oz cup options. Our coffees are served with double shots as standard, which is approximately 50ml of espresso in each cup.

The Barista The most important component in good coffee is the human one. Our Baristas have been professionally trained to a Master Barista standard to ensure they combine all the fundamentals before they present you with the perfect cup of coffee. We believe that by combining the best beans, baristas and equipment, we are able to make great coffee to suit you. Our Baristas are experts in what they do and passionate about the results.
